Hanbury Named AIA NC Firm of the Year
The chapter's highest firm honor recognizes Hanbury's sustained contributions to architecture in North Carolina.
Hanbury has been named the 2026 Firm of the Year by AIA North Carolina, the highest honor the chapter bestows upon an architecture firm. The award recognizes the quality and breadth of a firm's work, its contributions to the architectural profession, and its positive impact on the communities in which it works.
Since establishing its Raleigh office in 2014, Hanbury has expanded its work across North Carolina, developing expertise that has strengthened the firm as a whole. The recognition reflects years of work by the Raleigh team and the relationships it has built throughout the state.

“When we began building the Raleigh practice, we saw an opportunity to expand what Hanbury could do,” said Pat O’Keefe, Hanbury’s COO. “What started as a small team has grown into a studio that has helped diversify our portfolio, bringing new markets, new clients, and new perspectives into the firm. That growth didn’t happen by accident. It’s the result of a team that works incredibly hard, supports one another, and has built a culture people want to be part of. The team has also become a real voice in the profession, sharing ideas and research that are influencing conversations well beyond North Carolina. It means a great deal to see that work recognized by our peers.”
We are grateful to our clients and collaborators for their trust, and to the colleagues, past and present, whose work has made this recognition possible.
