Meet the 2026 Summer Designers
Collaboration and curiosity are at the core of our practice, and our annual Summer Program is curated in that spirit. This year, we welcome ten students from a range of disciplines and backgrounds across our offices, offering them a platform for design agency and critical inquiry.
Whether their focus is research, design practice, or interiors, they will work across scales and markets, building foundational skills through mentorship and shared learning. They bring perspectives entirely their own, and the firm is richer for the exchange.

Isaiah Moody: A Master of Architecture student at Carnegie Mellon and a graduate of Howard University, Isaiah is drawn to healthcare design and the ways evidence-based, regenerative thinking can advance spatial justice and environmental wellness.
James Hostutler: Studying architecture at Georgia Tech with a focus on sustainability, James moves between the "missing middle" of housing and cultural heritage, recently rebuilding Hadrian's Library in virtual reality from data gathered across Greece and Italy.

Sam Wilson Hoff: Sam is a Master of Architecture student at the University of Virginia, with a background in 3D design. His wide-ranging skill set spans fabrication, GIS mapping, and visualization, and he enjoys the cross-disciplinary nature of design.
Logan Safranek: Studying architecture at Virginia Tech with a minor in industrial design, Logan recently spent a term in Chicago, where he developed urban corridor proposals. As head of graphics for his school's Studio Collective, he enjoys the visual culture of studio life.
Kaelyn Reindel: An interior design student at Virginia Commonwealth University, Kaelyn brings over eight years of experience in hospitality to her work. That background gives her a firsthand understanding of how space and atmosphere shape experience, which informs her human-centered approach to design.

Dharshini Mahesh Babu: A Master of Architecture student at McGill University, Dharshini specializes in heritage conservation and sustainability and brings a preservationist's eye to her work, from BIM documentation to international research on traditional environments.
Kylie Lawrence: A third-year interior design student at Virginia Tech, Kylie is committed to accessibility and empathy, and to designing human-centered spaces that work for everyone.
Daniel Knorr: A Master of Architecture student at the University of Pennsylvania, Daniel is interested in affordable and workforce housing, exploring culturally sustainable vernacular design and community-minded planning.

Alden Schutz: Pursuing a dual master's in architecture and urban design at Washington University in St. Louis, Alden is a recognized student designer whose work moves between ecological research, fabrication, and design at the scale of the city.
Zachary St-Laurent: A third-year architecture student at Penn State, Zachary recently completed a summer studio in Dresden. His interests center on materials and building construction, and as a teaching assistant in detailing and drafting, he values the craft of translating ideas into built form.
