New Design Leadership

Reflecting the continued evolution of Hanbury’s design practice, the firm has named Jesse Green, AIA, LEED AP and Alec Yuzhbabenko, AIA as Design Directors, and Mike Brady, AIA, Andy Craven, AIA, LEED AP, PMP, and Eric Mitchell, AIA as Technical Design Directors.

These appointments signal Hanbury’s ongoing investment in design leadership, technical excellence, and a practice-wide structure that supports the firm’s growing ambitions across locations and markets.

Design Directors

As Design Directors, Jesse and Alec join Rob Reis in shaping and elevating the firm’s design vision. In close collaboration with Principals and project teams, they lead as creative mentors and strategic thinkers, guiding work that is meaningful, sustainable, and aligned with Hanbury’s values. Their leadership extends across regions, supporting a wide range of project types and strengthening a culture of inquiry and design excellence.

Jesse Green
leads with a contextual design philosophy grounded in collaboration and cultural understanding. With experience across a wide range of project types, he brings clarity and intention to every phase of the design process. Jesse’s work bridges concept and implementation, drawing on place, climate, and craft to shape environments that are both purposeful and distinct. As Design Director, he advances project vision through a process that is disciplined, inclusive, and aligned with client goals.

Alec Yuzhbabenko
brings a holistic, multidisciplinary approach grounded in conceptual clarity and a commitment to the human experience. His portfolio spans higher education, mixed-use, civic, and planning work, including his role as lead architect for Atlantic Park. As Design Director, Alec leads with curiosity and ambition, encouraging creative experimentation at every scale and challenging conventional practice. His influence is felt in the ideas he champions and the design culture he helps shape, one that is exploratory, diverse, and continually evolving.

Technical Design Directors

The Technical Design Director role was created to strengthen the technical execution of Hanbury’s work and ensure consistency with firmwide standards. In this capacity, Mike, Andy and Eric provide project leadership through delivery strategy, technical quality, and mentorship, reinforcing clarity and coordination across all phases of the design process.

Mike Brady
has a broad range of in-depth project type experience ranging from complex science and technology projects to large scale university projects, including pharmaceutical manufacturing, research lab facilities, university housing, classroom and mixed-use buildings. He brings a strategic perspective to projects emphasizing alignment between design intent, project documentation and performance by focusing on constructability and coordination of building systems.

Andy Craven
, a 30-year military veteran with more than two decades in the architecture profession, brings a dual-career perspective to a well-rounded, solutions-focused approach to team leadership and technical delivery. His background supports a goal-oriented mindset, grounded in organizational leadership and refined through years of mentoring and managing teams. Andy is known for clarifying complexity and solving problems with precision and consistency across project delivery.

Eric Mitchell
has guided the delivery of the firm’s most complex and technically demanding work to date. Known for his calm leadership, mentorship, and strong client relationships, Eric supports teams across disciplines and markets, leading technical efforts that reflect the highest standards of precision and performance.
