Rhodes College West Village

The new West Village at Rhodes College, housing 141 upperclassmen in single and double-room occupancy suites, has swiftly become the top residential choice for seniors, eclipsing other campus accommodations. This sought-after residence features comprehensive amenities, including laundry facilities on every floor, diverse communal social spaces highlighted by two cozy fireplaces, and a shared, open kitchen, promoting a vibrant community atmosphere.

The project is a continuation of the 2000 Campus Master Plan, and encompasses the thoughtful planning, programming, and design of this suite-style community alongside the renovation of the adjacent Burrow Refectory. These enhancements not only elevate the residential experience for upperclassmen, but also introduce timeless, welcoming food service venues, a new quad for enhanced campus connectivity, and a refreshed campus entrance. The integration of these spaces fosters elegant architectural links between the historic and contemporary, ensuring the new additions to Rhodes College remain distinct and deeply rooted in the institution's rich history and architectural heritage.
